Building Blocks Off To A Great Start!!
This last Saturday Pam kicked off the Building Blocks Program. This interesting new program provides quilters with the opportunity to put together a quilt that is uniquely their own, even when using the same block design as the rest of the group! Each month we have a new block design that you arrange and color to make it your own. You don't have to come to the meetings to be a part of this fun new group. Come by the shop and find out how you too can participate! Here are some pictures from our first month.

SPECIAL NEWS !!
Marilyn and Jerry are extremely pleased and proud to announce that our shop has been chosen as one of the 11 featured shops across the United States and Canada for the Spring 2012 issue of
Quilt Sampler magazine, published by Better Homes and Gardens. We can't
begin to tell you how excited we are and how difficult it has been to keep this secret for the last several months. But now we can share this great news with all of our fabulous customers who have helped make our shop what one of the best in the Country!
Just yesterday we celebrated the news with many of our customers and the shop. Everyone was so thrilled that we decided we just have to have a big celebration event at the shop so stay tuned while we do some planning. Also, we will be sharing soon a picture of the quilt that was designed by Marilyn specifically for this magazine. Make sure you are on our email list or Facebook to keep informed. We'd love to hear from you (Use Facebook or
our Contact page)
A great big thank you to Doris who ran out and bought us this lovely bouquet of flowers.

For those not familiar,
Quilt Sampler is published twice each year and has been profiling North America's top quilt shops fro the past 15 years. Quilt shops submit a detailed application on their history, business promotions, charitable work, teaching schedules and design philosophies. The magazine narrows down over 3000 applications to just 10 featured shops for each issue. They also select an encore shop that was featured in a past issue to revisit. The Spring issue is scheduled to be released on May 8th.

Quilt Sampler 2012 Update!
Our thanks to everyone who gave us such great feedback on the fantastic news that we will be in the May 2012 issue. We are so thrilled and anxious to share more with you. A few of you may remember one Thursday in late October when our shop was being photographed for the magazine. We told you that we were working on a new website which was not a lie. Our new website is actually only a few weeks from going live! We all had a lot of fun that day and it was terribly difficult not to shout out what was really going on!

Most of you know, but for those that don't, a big part of each issue is a custom quilt design from each of the quilt shops. Well, we are no different and Marilyn has come up with a stunning quilt called "Candied Stars" that we feel really represents our shop. While the pattern will be in the magazine issue, we will be offering quilt kits so you can make is just like Marilyn's. We'll have more information on these kits and start taking pre-orders sometime next month. Stay tuned...

Glendale Quilt Show 2012 - Quilting Green
While you may be thinking about the Road to California quilt show next January, the Glendale Quilt Show is not long after. Why would i be mentioning it now you ask? Two reasons. One, I want you to know that they do accept quilt entries from non-guild members. The show is March 15-18, 2012. You can find all the information including the quilt entry form on their
Glendale 2012 Quilt Show Link.
Secondly, we are considering offering a bus trip to this great event. Because this show is so close to the shop we decided we could offer a no-frills round trip from Cotton & Chocolate Quilt Company for just $35.00, which includes your admission fee! We will need about 50 interested riders to ink this trip with the bus company. We would leave Cotton and Chocolate at about 9:30 and return by around 4 PM. Let us know if you are interested.
Also, we have not sold out our Road To California Bus. We need more riders to ensure this trip is a go! Please contact the shop and reserve your space. You must pay for your trip in advance to reserve your seat. The price for this trip is $60 and includes admission and a complimentary tote bag.
