Smocking is simply embroidery on pleats. Although it is often seen on children’s clothes, it can also be added to adult garments, quilts, and home decor projects. In this three-session class, you will see how a pleater works, learn how to block your fabric, delve into color choices, read a smocking graph, and learn the basic smocking stitches. We will start on a pleated sampler that is provided in your kit, then move on to a 2nd sampler that has the option of being made into a smocked dress.
